Depending on program dates, the January Intensive Month program may be added a preface to semester or programs in Paris; however, it may function best as a stand-alone program. If you take the January Intensive Month before the spring semester, you can typically stay in ISA housing between the sessions but will be responsible for extra housing costs.

VERITAS COURSE
All Veritas semester students will take their traditional courses at the host institution in addition to one 3-credit Veritas course. Students will choose one of the two courses below. The Comparative Religions course will be online and include students from across Veritas sites, and the Global Ministry Practicum will be online/on-site.
Comparative Religions (HUM 353)
This course is an introduction to the major religious traditions of the world—particularly Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—and indigenous, new, and secular religions. The historical development, key figures, as well as major doctrines and practices are explored.
Global Ministry Practicum (HUM 490)
This course provides upper division credit for international ministry opportunities and an extended ministry experience designed to acquaint students with the implementation of missions principles in an international context through Veritas Christian Study Abroad programs.

This program is the Catho's January Intensive Month session + the standard spring semester. In January you will take an intensive French language course, followed by your regular semester of coursework.

Culture & Civilization courses are typically in the afternoon, and French language courses are in the morning. You will very likely need to take a French language course to fill your schedule and to avoid course scheduling conflicts.
Course Selection and Language Requirement

Most students will take one French language course which counts as the majority of their total credits/hours. You may then fill the remainder of your schedule with culture courses in French or English, described in more detail. The below structure is subject to change based on enrollments and course offerings at the Catho each semester.

If you place into the True Beginning (A1-1), Beginning (A1-2), High Beginning (A2-1) or Low Intermediate (A2-2) level, you will be required to take a French language course as most of your credits.

If you place into the True Beginning (A1-1) or Beginning (A1-2) level, you will primarily take French language and can choose to take one course in English.

If you place into the High Beginning (A2-1) or Low Intermediate (A2-2) level, you can take up to three French civilization courses or two English courses in addition to French langauge during the semester.

You must take Business French (FREN290), Field Assignment (BUSI110), and How to leverage my study abroad experience in France (CMPR350), each worth one credit. This makes up part of your total credits for the academic semester, leading up to the 6 credit summer internship.
