Overview

GENERAL GOALS
a. To help the student develop a constant personal and professional drive to better themselves, a problem-solving approach, a decision making attitude, leadership and management.
b. To help the student develop effective study habits, time organization skills, individual autonomy, critical and self-critical thinking, and oral and written communication skills.
c. To provide the student with the fundamental concepts to understand the human body functions
d. To study the function of each one of the human body systems
e. To provide the student with the scientific language to be used in clinical practice.

1. To base interventions in nursing on scientific evidence and on the available means
2. To promote healthy life spans, to promote taking care of each person by themselves and support the maintenance of preventive and therapeutic measures.

4. To know and identify the structure and function of the human body.
5. To understand the molecular and physiological basis of cells and tissues
6. To know the pathophysiological processes and their manifestations and the risk factors that determine the health and disease states in the different stages of their vital cycle..
7. To know and identify physiological and physical problems derived from domestic violence and to train the students in prevention, early detection, assistance, and rehabilitation of victims of this form of violence

ASSESSMENT SYSTEM OF THE ACQUISITION OF THE COMPETENCIES

In order to average, the student will need to achieve 50% of the written test (3.5 over 7).

Assessment criteria
- In order to pass, it will be compulsory to pass theory and practice.
- The pass mark will be 5 over 10.
- Spelling mistakes, grammatical inconsistencies and sms language will mean the loss of 10% of the exam mark

1. Theory assessment (70%) (Written test): it will be carried out at the end of the semester and it will consist of two parts:
- 40 multiple choice questionnaire. Answered wrong answers deducted according to the following correction formula: Correct answers-(Wrong Answers/3).
- 5 short answer questions

2. Individual work and continuous assessment (30%)
Throughout the semester the student will perform activities related to each unit. The student will be assessed through oral and written questions, in the classroom and through individual work via ucv.net platform.

Practice reports: After each practice activity, the student will submit a report. The contents will be previously established by the lecturer.
