Through a series of practical exercises, workshops, talks and discussions (by invited professionals working in the field), this module examines the process of Producing and the role of Producer on both fiction and non fiction projects. For their first assignment, students will work in groups to produce a 5 minute, researched and scripted factual film to an editorial brief for a prescribed broadcast slot. For their second assignment students have a choice of writing a Research Essay on a drama production of their choice or compiling a Producer’s Folder for a live project – this will often be related to the Production Project (fiction) in advance of shooting in the Spring Term.
