Overview
Assessment: portfolio (2000 words) [100%]
This module aims to enable students to develop a grasp of some of the important debates that underpin psychology as a discipline. The module will focus on the core psychological themes of self, consciousness and behaviour exploring each from a variety of perspectives (e.g. critical, social constructionist, phenomenological, cognitive, realist, biological). The module will therefore encompass debates between different perspectives on the core topics of self, consciousness and behaviour and in so doing seek to develop an understanding of (and a capacity to evaluate) the ideas that lie behind these different perspectives.
