Assessment: 6 pieces of coursework spread across 6 different weeks summarising one of the readings assigned for that week (250 words each) [25%], on-line test (1 hour) [25%], in-class test (1.5 hours) [50%]
The ethnographic literature on hunter-gatherers is examined from an evolutionary ecological perspective. Cross-cultural variation in diet, foraging practices, technology, residence, mobility, reproduction, cooperation, and social organization are surveyed and analyzed.
