Overview
OBJECTIVES
- Apply the ideal gas law to determine properties of ideal gases,
- Be able to read and understand property tables, such as steam tables,
- Be able to compute cycle and device efficiencies, or when given efficiencies, compute inlet or outlet properties of the working fluid,
- Understand and be able to use properties such as enthalpy, entropy, exergy, gage and absolute pressure, specific volume, internal energy, etc.
- Have a basic understanding of the means by which various energy conversion devices operate.
